High Wind Warning issued for Mass., Rhode Island, Connecticut
According to the National Weather Service, be prepared from some strong winds beginning tonight.
The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued a High Wind Warning, which is in effect from 3 AM to 7 PM EST Monday. The High Wind Watch is no longer in effect.
Strong winds increasing tonight, peaking Monday afternoon, then diminishing Tuesday. 55-65 mph with potential for gusts near 70 mph. Downed trees and scattered power outages are likely.
A High Wind Warning is issued when sustained winds of 40 mph are expected for at least one hour, with gusts of 58 mph or greater at any time. Damage to trees, power lines, and property are possible with winds of this magnitude. Power outages are likely. Take action to secure loose outdoor objects.
