Here are the events taking place in Fall River for Memorial Day 2026.

On Monday at 10:00 a.m. the Global War on Terror Monument Ceremony will take place at North Park (Snake Hill).

Battleship Cove (5 Water St) in Fall River will host its annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. This free public event features traditional military observances, a 21-gun salute, honoring Gold Star families, live music, and a special remembrance honoring Bristol County’s lost service members.

From 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Active Military, Veterans, Guard and Reserve will be provided with free admission to Battleship Cove. Photo ID required.

The City of Fall River Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony – Parade Line-up will begin at 12:00 p.m. at Kennedy Park. The ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Parade Kick-off at 2:00 p.m. from Kennedy Park to City Hall. 

Following the Fall River Memorial Day Parade, the South Coast Nurse Honor Guard will present a solemn and heartfelt ceremony at Fall River City Hall honoring the service and sacrifice of military nurses throughout our nation’s history.

The keynote speaker and Grand Marshal is Mary Goff, RN, an Army nurse who served during the Vietnam War. During the ceremony, Mary will also be recognized as an honorary member of the South Coast Nurse Honor Guard for her exemplary service and dedication.

They will additionally honor the memory of fallen nurse Marjorie Pillsbury, RN, who is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery.

As part of the ceremony:

· The South Coast Nurse Honor Guard will receive a citation from Mayor Paul Coogan and the City of Fall River.

· Mary Goff, RN, will be presented with a commemorative plaque.

· She will also receive a special portrait created by Fall River artist Brian Fox, known for his powerful Vietnam War military artwork series.

· The South Coast Nurse Honor Guard will perform its signature Nightingale Tribute honoring fallen military nurses.

· Members will appear in traditional white nursing uniforms with capes and caps, similar in ceremonial tradition to military, police, and fire honor guards.

· The ceremony will also include the Final Call to Duty tribute.
