We all have our favorites, but here is a small list of former Fall River area restaurants that people seem to often miss.
- China Royal: A nostalgic favorite for Chinese food, often mentioned alongside other closed eateries in Fall River for its memorable dishes.
- Mee Sum: Closed at the end of 2024 was a Chinese food favorite to many including famous chef Emeril Legasse.
- Earnshaw’s: Known for its classic diner fare located at the Broadway Extension, this restaurant is frequently mentioned by Fall River residents particularly when discussing diner nostalgia.
- Nite Owl: Another diner-style spot that locals recall fondly for its casual atmosphere and comfort food.
- Mark You: Another Chinse food staple that later became home to Quang’s Kitchen.
- Harry-O’s: A beloved eatery remembered for its unique vibe and menu on Pleasant Street.
- Magoni’s Ferry Landing: A Somerset waterfront staple for over 70 years, it closed on New Year’s Eve 2023. Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, it’s missed for its legacy and scenic location. The site is being redeveloped as Slades Ferry Grille.
