Heat, humidity, storms expected in parts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut leads to Heat Advisory

Heat, humidity and scattered severe storms are expected in parts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut on Thursday.
A Heat Advisory will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday for portions of northern Connecticut, central, eastern, northeastern, southeastern, and western Massachusetts, and northern Rhode Island.
Heat index values near 100 degrees are expected across much of Massachusetts. Timing for the greatest storm risk is between 4-10 p.m.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Precautions:
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
