Head-on crash involving three vehicles results in serious injuries on Route 1

Multiple people were rushed to the hospital after a collision involving multiple vehicles.

According to Police Chief Bill McGrath, on Friday night a three-vehicle crash on Route 1 ended with a head-on collision in front of the Arbor Inn in Wrentham.

According to witnesses, a sedan traveling south on Route 1 rear ended a pickup truck at which point the sedan deflected across the center line into the opposite lanes of travel, colliding head-on with another sedan.

The operator of the first sedan was seriously injured. The operator of the second sedan was injured with the extent of the injuries undetermined. The operator of the pickup truck was not seriously injured.

The accident is under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
