According to a release, for one evening only the Fall River Public Library will become Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as it celebrates Harry Potter Night.

The event, which will take place on Wednesday, December 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., will be held in various locations throughout the library. Fans of the popular book series by author J. K. are encouraged to dust off their magician’s robes and ready their wands for an evening filled with magic and surprises!

Some of the highlights of the evening will include an exhibit of live owls from the Rhode Island Audubon Society, an ongoing trivia contest for those who think they know every nuance of the Harry Potter books, a scavenger hunt, and a raffle for a Harry Potter themed basket of goodies!

Children will have the opportunity to pose for pictures with some of their favorite characters including Harry Potter, Dumbledore, Hagrid, Mad-eye Moody and Fawkes the phoenix. Children and adults are encouraged to attend in costume as there will be a secret costume contest that will take place throughout the night with the winners being contacted on the following day! An assortment of themed crafts for children will also be taking place, including a Design a Sock for Dobby contest!

For further information on this event contact the Children’s Room at 508-324-2700 ext. 4 or visit the library’s website at fallriverlibrary.org.
