Hanover, Abington, Hanson, Hingham, Norwell, Rockland, Whitman respond to multi-vehicle rollover crash that injured over a dozen
An update has been issued concerning a multi-vehicle collision that injured over a dozen people.
According to a joint release by the fire and police departments, at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, the Regional Old Colony Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Webster Street (Route 123) and Juniper Lane in Hanover. Callers reported one vehicle on its side and multiple potential injuries.
Hanover Fire and Police Departments were immediately dispatched to the scene. Responders arrived to find a two-vehicle collision involving a transport van carrying multiple occupants and a four-door sedan. The transport van was resting on its side, and both vehicles sustained moderate to significant damage.
Given the number of individuals involved, Hanover Fire Department declared a Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident. A total of 9 ambulances responded to the scene. In all, 13 patients were triaged, treated, and transported to area hospitals for further evaluation.

Abington Fire, Hanson Fire, Hingham Fire, Norwell Fire, Rockland Fire, and Whitman Fire. Hanover Fire utilized Ambulance 1, Ambulance 2, and Engine 1 as part of the response.
While this incident was ongoing, off-duty Hanover Fire personnel on callback—along with an ambulance from Pembroke Fire—responded to an unrelated medical emergency elsewhere in town, ensuring continuity of emergency services.
The cause of the collision remains under active investigation by the Hanover Police Department.
