Gusty winds, bitterly cold wind chills, localized snow squalls across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut
Unseasonable cold weather is making its way across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
According to the National Weather Service, an arctic cold front crosses the region today with a few snow showers and a localized snow squall or two, particularly for western MA that would briefly cause very poor visibility, and a quick coating of snow which may result in hazardous travel.
Windy conditions and bitterly cold temperatures come in tonight with windchills in the minus and single digits across the area and gusts from 40-55 mph. The winds quickly diminish by Friday, but it remains unseasonably cold. Scattered snow showers will possibly mixing with rain showers late Friday night into Saturday with a low-pressure system passing well to our south. Another arctic cold front crosses the region Sunday followed by well below normal temperatures Sunday night into Tuesday. A low-pressure system approaching from the west may bring some more rain/snow showers by Tuesday night and/or Wednesday.
