Friday evening fire damages Fall River home, displaces residents
Fall River Firefighters fought a Friday evening blaze in the city that displaced several residents.
A call came in from dispatch just before 8:30 p.m. for flames showing from the third floor of a three story multi-family home at 234 Hamlet Street. Upon arrival, FRFD encountered heavy smoke and fire.
According to fire officials, the 2 alarm fire caused a hole to burn through the third floor as firefighters chased the blaze through ceilings and walls. The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes, however crews stayed on scene for approximately two hours chasing hot spots.
The fire caused substantial damage to the third floor and water damage throughout the building.
No injuries were reported.
The fire is still under investigation.
