Freetown man held on bail after authorities seize 22 firearms, ammunition, feeding devices, pills

FREETOWN, MA – A local man is facing a handful of charges after nearly two dozen guns were seized.

According to police, on Thursday, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Freetown Police were assisting Freetown Fire-Rescue at 9 Gray Oaks Drive. While on scene, officers observed concerning behavior from a third party, which led to the discovery of two unsecured firearms inside the home.

Officers determined that the owner of the firearms, 63-year-old Lance Cambra of East Freetown, did not possess a valid firearms license.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence. The subsequent search resulted in the seizure of 20 additional firearms, assorted ammunition and feeding devices, and a quantity of white pills packaged in bags believed to be oxycodone.

Cambra was arrested at the residence, processed at the Freetown Police Station, and transported to Ash Street Jail in New Bedford, MA.

Cambra was arraigned today in Fall River District Court on the following charges:

• Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card (22 counts)

• Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card (1 count)

• Improper Storage of a Firearm (2 counts)

• Possession of a Class B Drug (1 count)

According to court records, Cambra pled not guilty and was being held on $25,000 bond/$2,500 cash, returnable for a pretrial hearing on December 18th.

This case remains under investigation by the Freetown Police Department.
