Freetown, Berkley, Lakeville respond to blaze that destroys home, third fire at residence this month
Fire crews once again responded to a blaze at a local home on Tuesday morning.
According to the Freetown Fire Department, at just after 1:30 a.m., Freetown Communications Center received multiple calls for a structure fire on Water Street in Assonet Village.
First due companies reported heavy fire in a vacant residence at 42 Water Street. A working fire assignment was transmitted bringing all available personnel from Freetown, Mutual aid Engines from Berkley and Lakeville to the scene with Dartmouth District 3 to cover Freetown headquarters. The providence canteen provided rehab for crews that would remain on scene until 8:00 a.m.
The fire is the third incident at this location this month.
There were no injuries to Fire or civilian personnel.
The cause is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall’s office as well as Freetown police and Fire Departments.
