FALL RIVER, MA – February 11, 2020 — The Narrows Center for the Arts is bringing back Spindle City Fest on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 10am to 3pm! The first of four seasonal festivals, the event showcases all that Fall River and its surrounding communities have to offer in the realms of art, entertainment, victuals, and creativity.

In the morning there will be a free Gentle Kripalu Yoga class led by certified Kripalu instructor, Karyl Benoit. This is a BYOM (bring your own mat) class. Space is limited. Reservations can be made on the Narrows website.

In the mood for some snacks? Portugalia Marketplace will be dishing out samples of their finest wines and cheeses. Troy City Brewing will also be back to serve up some of their delicious, small-batch nano-brews. For a sweet treat, Cedar Ledge Apiaries and Juice’d Cafe will each have delicious victuals for purchase in the Artisan Market, alongside a host of other local artisan vendors.

At noon, head up to the third floor for the opening reception of the gallery exhibition, Ebb and Flow. This exhibit, which showcases the work of sculptor Tiffany Adams, photographer Brooke Hammerle, and painter Paula Martiesian, discusses the movement of water. The three artists offer their personal interpretations of the constant motion of water in their lives and art. Refreshments will be provided and all are welcome to attend.

Throughout the day, the artists of the Narrows Art Community will be hosting open studios. From photographers and painters to comic book artists and handbag makers. YEAH! (Youth Experiencing Artistic Hope), will be offering a DIY silk-screening experience along with a first-hand look at the student’s process in creating art and design. You’ll also have the chance to purchase original YEAH! youth-produced artwork and merchandise.

Rounding out the day is Boston-based rock group, Danielle M & The Glory Junkies. Led by Danielle Miraglia — a longtime Narrows favorite — their sound combines the blues rock vibe of The Rolling Stones and Janis Joplin with Danielle’s signature lyrical ability to explore human nature at its best and worst.
