Free L.E.D. mini golf, outdoor circus among activities coming to Fall River Public Library
Here are some highlights of midsummer happenings at the Fall River Public Library. In addition to the kids’ summer reading program, there are exciting programs for adults and teens.
All Week: Astronaut Picture Frame Craft, Children’s Room. Pick up this craft kit, add your own photo, and you’ll be off to infinity and beyond! Pick up in the Children’s Room while supplies last.
Sign Up for Seashell Nightlight Adult Craft Workshop: Call the Circulation Desk, 508-324-2700, ext. 2, to register for this free workshop with artist Stephanie Enloe, scheduled for Tuesday, August 8 at 6 pm.
Monday, July 24:
The Little Red Hen, with Talking Hands Theatre, 11 am. Who will help the Little Red Hen plant her grain? Join the library for this lively, musical puppet show retelling of the classic folk tale.
LED Mini Golf, 2 pm – 5 pm. Join FRPL in the Meeting Room for nine holes of mini golf in the dark with LED lights! Drop by any time between 2 and 5 for a game, courtesy of One Up Games. It’s free and signup is not required!
Tuesday, July 25:
To the Moon! Storytime Under the Tent, 11 am. Join FRPL under the tent on the Elm Street lawn for tales of space exploration, then look for moon rocks on the lawn! In case of rain, the event will be held indoors.
Teen Anime Club, 6 pm. Teens 12-18 are invited to join FRPL to watch anime episodes, talk about our favorite anime, and share some tasty Japanese snacks.
Wednesday, July 26:
Popcorn! Outdoor Circus, 11 am. Come one, come all to the greatest show on earth! Join FRPL under the Big Top (the Elm Street tent) for a unique circus experience that reminds kids and adults to be awesome in everyday life.
Magic: the Gathering, 5 pm. Teens age 12-18 are invited to join FRPL for a weekly meetup to play the world’s most popular trading card game! New players are always welcome.
Thursday, July 27:
Play & Learn, 10 am: Stories, songs, and activities recommended for children age 5 and under.
Make a Seed Bomb, 5 pm. Teens, join FRPL outside under the Elm Street tent to create seed bombs to add color to your garden. This free activity is recommended for ages 12-18.
Friday, July 28:
Make a Sock Gnome, 11 am. Kids, create your own adorable gnome out of a sock! All materials supplied. For more information or to sign up, call the Children’s Room at 508-324-2700, ext. 4.
Board Game Afternoon: 1 pm—2 pm. Join FRPL every Friday this summer to play some fun board games! Beat the heat (and some library staff members) in Munchkin, Machi Koro, Oni Tama, and more (you can even bring your own)! Program geared toward ages 12-19.
Fairytales with Flair, 1 pm. Storyteller Mark Binder spellbinds with his new and exciting takes on fairy tales. Don’t miss this mesmerizing performance, appropriate for all ages. Families are invited to bring snacks and blankets to spread on the lawn for this free show.
