Free fishing clinic, basketball shooting tournament and block party coming to Fall River in separate events
Three separate fun events are coming to the City of Fall River in the coming days.
COPS & BOBBERS A FREE FAMILY FISHING CLINIC
Tuesday, Sept. 12th 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Bicentennial Park Fall River, MA
This is a free event in which Division of Marine Fisheries staff, partnering with the Fall River Police Department, will teach basic saltwater angling skills through fun and educational activities! This program is intended for kids 5-15 years old but provides skill building for adult anglers interested in learning alongside their kids! Participants will learn skills such as knot tying, casting, proper fish handling and identification, and catch and release fishing! No prior experience in fishing is necessary, and all gear and bait will be provided. Pre-registration is required for this FREE event and space is limited! FALL RIVER HOT SHOT CHALLENGE

Britland Park, Fall River
Ready to test your basketball shooting skills? Register for the Fall River Hot Shot Challenge at the newly renovated basketball courts at Britland Park. Modeled after the NBA’s annual 3-point shot contest, the Fall River Hot Shot Challenge offers three age co-ed divisions and is sponsored by several entities including Bay Coast Bank, Fall River Police Department, Massachusetts Coalition for Police, Mayor Paul Coogan, Roger’s Coney Island Hot Dogs, City Councilor Laura Washington, State Rep. Carole Fiola, and Echelon. Registration is free and takes place at 3:00 p.m. Prizes include a $250 Visa gift card, a $500 Visa gift card, a pair of Air Jordan 7 White Infrared basketball shoes, and more!
