Free festival to welcome Puerto Rican families coming to Fall River
A free festival in Fall River has been announced to welcome displaced Puerto Rican families living in Fall River.
“Welcome to Fall River” is scheduled to take place Saturday May 12th at Kuss Middle School at 52 Globe Mills Avenue from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
As many know, residents of Puerto Rico have been displaced due to the devastation of hurricane Maria. Many families have been relocated to Massachusetts, including Fall River.
The event is not only for the Fall River community to welcome the new residents, but for the new residents that are displaced to learn what the city has to offer.
The fair will have food, entertainment, music, a resource fair, a job fair, the Southcoast Hospital Van, door prizes, children’s activities, and support for paperwork for new Fall River residents.
If you need transportation to the event, contact Jessica Rodriguez at 508-491-9004.
