Four Fall River, Dighton, East Greenwich men arrested at Portsmouth’s Aquapalooza

Portsmouth, RI – The Portsmouth Police Department, in coordination with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, conducted a comprehensive public safety and enforcement operation during the 2026 Aquapalooza event held in Potter’s Cove on Saturday. 

According to Portsmouth Police, Aquapalooza remains one of the largest boating events in Narragansett Bay and requires a significant law enforcement presence to ensure compliance with boating laws and to promote the safety of all those on the water. Officers from participating agencies conducted proactive enforcement efforts throughout the duration of the event, with an emphasis on impaired operation, reckless boating, and safety violations. 

As a result of the operation, law enforcement officers arrested the following: 

Robinson Alves, 23 years old, of Fall River, M.A. for Operating a Watercraft While Intoxicated 

Justin Taymes, 39 years old, of Fall River, M.A. for Operating a Watercraft While Intoxicated 

Anthony Gabriel, 21 years old, of Dighton, M.A for Disorderly Conduct & Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty 

Jake McCann, 33 years old, of East Greenwich, R.I. for Disorderly Conduct. 

Additionally, the Portsmouth Police Department issued 24 citations for boating and safety violations. 

The Portsmouth Police Department stated that they appreciate the continued partnership of the local, state, and federal agencies that assist in making this annual enforcement and public safety operation possible. These agencies included the Warwick Police Department, Bristol Police Department, Providence Police Department, Rhode Island State Police, Department of Environmental Management, United States Coast Guard, & the Portsmouth Police Fire Department.
