Former owner and operator of Cinderella Restaurant in Fall River passes away
A Fall River man who operated a city restaurant has passed away.
According to an obituary, 70-year-old Franklin Fernandes passed away peacefully on Monday in the comforts of his home following his battle with cancer.
Born in Froufe, Entre Ambos os Rios, Ponte da Barca, Portugal, he was owner and operator of the Cinderella Restaurant in Fall River prior to retirement (now BarCa Restaurant on Columbia Street).
Described as a “very hard-worker and phenomenal cook, he also loved gardening, hunting for rabbit, swimming in the ocean, and boating.” He enjoyed traveling but was at “his happiest in the presence of his family and reminiscing about the many fond memories of his loving mother and father.”
His Funeral will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 9:00 AM from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St., Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in Santo Christo Church (Columbia Street) at 10:00 AM. His visitation will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in the Silva-Faria Funeral Home from 5-8 PM. Committal and Internment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
