Former New England Patriot accused of assaulting 82-year-old man in Rhode Island
A former New England Patriot is facing an assault charge.
On Wednesday, North Providence Police arrested 46-year-old Patrick Pass for allegedly assaulting a man over 60 years of age and causing bodily injury.
The arrest is a result of an investigation by the North Providence Police of an incident that occurred on Wednesday August 28, 2024, at the Planet Fitness workout facility in North Providence.
It is alleged that the 82-year-old victim and Pass engaged in a verbal confrontation regarding a piece of exercise equipment. It then escalated to Pass shoving the victim, who fell to the floor and sustained injuries to his lower back.
Pass appeared in 3rd District for his pretrial arraignment and has a future court date in December.
According to multiple media reports, this is the same Patrick Pass who was a New England Patriot fullback and won three Super Bowls. He has more recently been Director of Football Personnel Development for the Worcester Pirates but was indefinitely suspended in July of 2023 when he and three players were involved in an altercation in the stands, according to The Boston Globe.
