Former Fall River School Committee member who was also involved with the Fall River Council on Aging and the Fall River Superior Court has died

A Fall River man known for his decades of service in multiple capacities has died.

83-year-old Robert Maynard passed away peacefully on Saturday surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer.

According to an obituary, “Robert devoted his life to his family, his faith, and the community he loved.”

Maynard served on the Fall River School Committee for 13 years and also served the community through his involvement with the Fall River Council on Aging and his work at the Fall River Superior Court.

At the family’s request, funeral services will be private. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Robert will be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River.
