Former Fall River Public School lunch lady, school bus monitor, passes away

A woman who served countless children in the Fall River Public School system has died.

82-year-old Georgette D. (Charest) Kanauss passed away on Thursday.

According to an obituary, “for many years she served as a lunch lady at Watson Elementary School in Fall River. Her warm smile and caring nature left a lasting impression on countless children who walked through the cafeteria doors. In addition to her work at Watson Elementary, Georgette also served as a School Bus Monitor with Trembly Bus Company. Georgette loved to travel, read, and the theatre. She also loved her sweets.”

Georgette’s Funeral will be held on Friday, January 2, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, with a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM, at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St, Fall River. Burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 2233 Robeson St, Fall River.
