Former Fall River owner of Nick’s Coney Island Hot Dogs, Highland Mini Market, Jerry’s Cigar Store passes away
A Fall River man who was known in the community through various business ventures, has died.
According to an obituary, 85-year-old Gerald Cote passed away on Saturday.
Gerald was a prominent presence in the local business community, owning multiple properties and ventures. He worked as a real estate agent and previously owned Nick’s Coney Island Hot Dogs in Fall River, Highland Mini Market Liquor Store in Fall River, and Jerry’s Cigar Store in Providence. He also delighted patrons as a staff member at Foxwoods Casino, where his lively personality added warmth to the environment.
“A proud graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Gerald carried a zest for life throughout his years. He found immense pleasure in going fishing, traveling, and taking cruises. His love for 50’s music filled his home, while evenings were often spent engrossed in true crime stories. Gerald had fun in playing scratch tickets. Gerald had a remarkable ability to bring laughter to those around him, embodying a jovial spirit as a beloved jokester who cherished making others smile. He was also a proud grandfather and loved spending time with his granddaughters.”
