A former candidate for mayor in the City of Fall River has announced who he is backing and why.

Former neighborhood association president who ran for mayor this year, Carlos Cesar, has released the following statement on who he is endorsing for the post.

“Dear friends, family & residents,

“As someone who has dedicated decades to volunteering and serving our beloved city, my primary concern has always been the welfare and prosperity of our community. While I have had my share of disagreements with Mayor Coogan and even ran against him, I cannot idly sit by without addressing what is at stake for our city’s future.

“After the recent debates, it became abundantly clear that Mayor Coogan possesses a comprehensive understanding of how city government functions. Despite our previous differences, I recognize the value of experience and knowledge, especially in navigating the challenges our city faces. It is in this SPIRIT OF UNITY and progress that I am choosing to set aside our past disagreements and endorse Mayor Paul Coogan for another term.

“I understand some residents are apprehensive about the prospect of two more years under the current administration. However, I am more concerned about the uncertainty that accompanies the alternative. Stability and experience are crucial as we move forward, and Mayor Coogan represents a path toward continued growth and improvement.

“Let us come together for the greater good of our city and its residents. I am confident that, with Mayor Coogan’s leadership, we can tackle the challenges ahead while ensuring our community thrives.

“Thank you for your trust and commitment to our shared future.

“Sincerely, Carlos Cesar”
