Former Fall River mayor to appear in summer mafia movie featuring movie, tv stars, Patriot legend
They made him an offer he couldn’t refuse as former Fall River Mayor Will Flanagan was cast in the role of a mafia made man in the new movie being filmed by Verdi Productions (Bleed for This) “Bad News on the Doorstep.”
Will Flanagan will appear next summer on the big screen alongside such film greats as Chazz Palminteri (Bronx Tale), Robert Davi (Goonies), Vincent Pastore (Sopranos) and future NFL Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski.
“Being able to play a wise guy was a role I really enjoyed,” said Flanagan. “Not only was it a great script with phenomenal actors, but Verdi Productions also has a winning hand here and I’m honored to have played a small role in such a great production,” Flanagan stated.
According to Deadline, “Bad News at the Doorstep” is described as “a poignant coming-of-age narrative chronicling the lives of Frank and Gino, two Italian-American high-school football prodigies amidst the gritty backdrop of late 1950s New Jersey. Beyond the gridiron, they confront a myriad of trials, from the complexities of post-football existence to the allure of delving into the underworld of organized crime. As they traverse this tumultuous landscape, they glean invaluable insights and grapple with profound life lessons, shaping their destinies in unexpected ways.”
“Bad News on the Doorstep” was filmed in the Ocean State and was directed by Tom DeNucci. It was also star Sistine Stallone the daughter of Sly Stallone.
