Former Fall River mayor hits the ice in new movie with veteran cast, former New England Patriot superstar
Former Fall River mayor and cannabis entrepreneur Will Flanagan is expanding his acting resume by appearing on film in the newest Verdi Production entitled “The Roaring Game”.
The Roaring Game is directed by Rhode Island native Tom DeNucci and features a veteran cast which includes Mickey Rourke (the Wrestler), William Forsythe (Raising Arizona), and John Fiore (Sopranos) with a guest appearance from New England Patriot future hall of famer Rob Gronkowski.
The comedy tells the tale of a group of outsiders that come together to compete in the world curling games in order to stay one step ahead of a bookie and his ruthless goons who are trying to collect a bet at any and all costs.
“I really felt in my element. The entire cast and crew were so professional and nice to me. I really learned a lot”, stated Flanagan.
The Roaring Game was filmed over three weeks in Rhode Island and is set to hit the big screen next year.
“As a young kid I always wanted to be an actor.” Flanagan said. “I had to pinch myself while on set to know that I was actually there.”
Flanagan hopes to keep his acting dreams alive while more films continue to be filmed in the Bay and Ocean States.
