Former employee accused of barricading himself at Dominos while armed

A Rhode Island man is facing several charges after a reported incident at a pizza restaurant.

According to police, on Saturday, at about 12:00 p.m., the North Smithfield Police began receiving calls that a male subject that barricaded himself inside Dominos at 500 Victory Highway and was armed with a knife.

The first officer on scene made contact with a male party identified as 33-year-old Ronald Reed of North Smithfield. Reed was immediately detained.

Witnesses advised that Reed, a former employee, entered the store previously and was advised to leave. He returned a short time later, displayed a knife and began locking and barricading doors. The workers in the store were initially unable to leave due to the barricades, but were eventually able to exit through one of the locked doors.

Reed was charged with two counts of Felony Assault and/or Battery, Weapons other than Firearms and Disorderly Conduct.

Reed was arraigned on Monday. A bail of $20,000.00 with surety was set. A No Contact Order was put into placed for the victims, a No Trespass Order was put into effect for the establishment.
