Former Bristol County special police officer dies from injuries sustained in a car versus bicycle collision
A Bristol County man has died after being injured in a collision late last week.
A call came into dispatch just before 11:15 a.m. on Friday for a car versus bicycle on South Washington Street (Route 1A) near CVS in North Attleborough.
Upon arrival, crews located the male bicycle rider down and began to perform CPR.
He was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
According to The Sun Chronicle, 72-year-old Richard Rogers of North Attleborough, a civilian and retired special police officer with North Attleborough, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the car refused medical attention, and no charges have been filed, however, the crash is still under investigation.
