Following numerous tips, man charged after thin dog left abandoned on Massachusetts highway
A Massachusetts man has been charged after a dog was left tied to the guardrail on a Massachusetts highway in concerning condition, according to authorities.
Revere Police say that a dog, now named Miracle, was abandoned on Route 1 A northbound between Jackson and York around 1:30 a.m. on May 29th.
Based on numerous tips from the community and the investigation conducted by the Revere Police Department, Detectives were able to identify forty-year-old Derek Fletcher of Dorchester for the abandonment of the dog.
Fletcher will be charged at Chelsea District Court with one count of animal cruelty in this case.
“This is another great example of how information from our community helps us hold people accountable for their actions.” Chief David J. Callahan stated. “Information provided to the detectives allowed them to track down the person responsible and he is being prosecuted.”
Revere Police thanked Lisa Cutting of Ocean View Kennel for her assistance and for caring for the dog.
