Flames destroy Dartmouth home consumed by fire
Officials are investigating a serious fire that may be related to an incident later in the day.
According to Dartmouth Chief Peter Andrade, District 1 was dispatched to 111 Prospect St at 5:45 this morning for a reported structure fire.
Crews arrived within minutes to find the house engulfed in flames. Crews worked to knock the fire down and confirm there were no occupants in the dwelling. The fire was declared under control within 20 minutes and crews remained on scene checking for extension and assisting in overhaul.
At this time the cause is under investigation by Dartmouth Fire District 1, Massachusetts State Fire Marshals Office and the Dartmouth Police Dept.
