Flags to be lowered to half-staff due to death of 24-year-old Senior Airman from Bristol County; services announced
A Bristol County man who was in the armed forces has died.
According to an obituary, 24-year-old Senior Airmen Jacob Nicholas Foster-Cole, a resident of Norton and a member of the United States, Air Force, stationed in Alaska and more recently Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
Born in Attleboro, Jacob grew up in Norton and graduated from Norton High School, Class of 2020. In October of that same year, Jacob proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force.
Jacob’s obituary stated that he “had a quiet and thoughtful nature. He loved to keep to himself but always seemed to be a level above everyone else; he was observant, intelligent, and quietly wise. He was known for being the best big brother, offering guidance and support to his younger siblings. He was an avid gamer, enjoyed anime and listening to music. These passions helped Jacob expressed himself through the things he loved most.”
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset at all state buildings on Sunday, August 17, 2025 in honor of Foster-Cole.
A cause of death was not released.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling hours on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Avenue, Taunton and on Sunday, August 17th from 9:00am -11:00am. Immediately followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11:00 am at Crapo Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. Taunton. Burial will be private.
