Five teens injured in Saturday night crash in Portsmouth
Police investigated a serious crash that injured five teens this past weekend.
According to Detective Lieutenant Michael C. Arnold, on August 18th at approximately 9:00 p.m., Portsmouth Police responded to the area of 936 Middle Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon their arrival, they observed a 2011 Toyota Camry that had veered off the roadway and collided with a stone wall and a tree. Officers and medical personnel attended to five juveniles ranging in age from sixteen to seventeen, who were out of the vehicle and conscious and alert. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling north bound on Middle Road when it left the roadway and crashed into the wall and tree. All of the juveniles were taken to a Providence area hospital for the injuries sustained in the accident. The Portsmouth Police Accident Recon Team, along with the Detective Division assisted with the investigation. Upon completion of this investigation the operator of the vehicle may face traffic related citations.
