Firefighter hospitalized in Monday morning fire
Fall River Firefighters made quick work of a fire Monday morning.
Dispatch received a call for smoke showing from a basement at approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning at 88 Lewin Street. Upon arrival, flames and smoke were coming from the basement near a dryer.
According to Chief Flannery, the fire that was located near the stairs was out within 20 minutes. The owner, and others at the scene, got out safely. A firefighter, however, needed to be transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation.
The fire damage was contained to the basement, but smoke spread throughout the home.
The cause and the amount of damage is still under investigation.
