Fire, State, and local police respond after two found unresponsive after serious crash on Route 140
Two people were found unresponsive after a serious crash on Route 140 Friday evening.
According to the Fire Department, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Lakeville Fire was dispatched to a crash on Route 140 south, south of Myricks.
The initial report stated that a tractor-trailer had gone off the road, with 2 occupants trapped, and possibly on fire. Ambulance 3 and Engine 1 cleared the building and responded out to the scene; Car 1 responded from home.
Another report placed the crash in Taunton, sending 2 Ambulances and 2 fire engines from the city to the highway.
Responders, including Lakeville and State Police, arrived to find a vehicle off the road with 2 victims still inside. There was no fire, just some smoke from the engine.
Both crash victims were found unresponsive and rapidly extricated to the Taunton and Lakeville ambulances. Lakeville paramedics quickly identified an underlying life-threatening medical emergency, in addition to injuries caused by the crash.
Paramedics treated the medical emergency, most likely rendering life-saving care.
Both occupants were transported to the hospital; their condition is not currently known.
