Fire at Pawtucket senior complex claims one life, several others seriously injured
A multiple alarm fire at a senior housing complex in Pawtucket has claimed a life Sunday.
Just after 2:00 p.m., multiple fire crews responded to Coats Manor Apartments, a 6-floor senior low-income housing apartment complex on Lonsdale Avenue, for a report of heavy fire.
Upon arrival, fire crews found the blaze which started on the first floor.
Officials stated 20-30 people have been displaced and 6 people were transported to the hospital for injuries, some of which are serious.
Red Cross responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
