FBI searching for evidence on Westport highway in connection with an ongoing, multi-jurisdictional investigation
An investigation is taking place on a local highway the last few days where authorities could be seen with buckets.
Kristen M. Setera, FBI Boston Division Office of Public Affairs told Fall River Reporter that the FBI’s Evidence Response Team is at Route 88 in Westport, MA in connection with an ongoing, multi-jurisdictional investigation.
“We are searching for specific evidence and there is no threat to public safety.”
The Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and the Westport Police Department are providing assistance.
“We recognize the traffic disruptions this may cause, and we are working as expeditiously as possible. We appreciate the public’s patience as we conduct this important law enforcement activity” said Setera. “As this remains an ongoing matter, no further details will be released at this time.”
