Father killed in Bristol County crash remembered as someone who lifted people up
A Rhode Island father that was killed in a crash in Bristol County is being remembered.
According to Trooper James DeAngelis of Massachusetts State Police, just before 9:30 a.m., on Monday, Troopers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash with one vehicle that left the roadway into the trees on Route 95 South at 9.4 mile marker in Mansfield.
The Mansfield Fire Department arrived on scene and extracted two occupants, with life threatening injuries, from the vehicle that went off the road. The vehicle, a 2013 Toyota Venza, was operated by 28-year-old George Gyamfi with a 26-year-old male passenger, both from Pawtucket, R.I. Gyamfi succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The passenger, who was not named, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in serious condition.
Those who knew Gyamfi were already missing him a day after his death.
Gyamfi was known to always lift others up with a supportive comment and always had an affirming quote when good things were happening for those around him.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has raised $19,000 as of this writing.
