Famous Venus de Milo property in Swansea taken off the market
The famous Venus de Milo property in Swansea that was put up for sale has recently been taken off the market.
Earlier this year, Cliff Ponte Jr. announced that he was the new listing agent for 75 Grand Army Highway. On Thursday, Ponte stated that the property is no longer on the market and there was no successful sale that occurred on the property.
The 60,000 square foot building and 7 acres of land had an asking price of $4.75 million.
Many are familiar with the property’s unique decor in addition to the ability to hold 5 functions at one time.
In 2021, owner Monte Ferris Sr. announced that the iconic restaurant would re-open for in-person dining with a soft opening by Memorial Day after previously stating in September of 2020 that the Venus de Milo would be closing, and the property would be put up for sale due to impacts from the COVID-19 virus. However, Ferris had a difficult time recruiting employees and the re-opening never took place.
Venus de Milo has continued to open every Friday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. for takeout only.
Fall River Reporter made multiple attempts to contact the business to see what the next move may be after the listing was pulled and have yet to receive a response.
