Family says man found dead in river was missing Massachusetts man
The body of a missing Massachusetts man has reportedly been located.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, Massachusetts State Police patrols, detectives, and specialized units responded to the banks of the Neponset River, in the area of the Neponset Valley Yacht Club, off Granite Avenue in Milton after a partially submerged body was observed.
MSP divers recovered the body shortly after 11:00 a.m.
MassLive states that family members say that 57-year-old John Wesley Young III is the deceased.
Boston Police stated in mid-January that Young was last spoken to over the phone on November 22, 2023, at approximately 7:00 p.m. when he told family members he was going to Braintree.
The investigation into the facts and circumstances of Young’s death is being conducted by the State Police Detective Unit for Norfolk County with assistance from the MSP Crime Scene Services Section and the state’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
