Family remembers new Massachusetts mother killed in alleged murder-suicide
A Massachusetts woman believed to have been killed in a murder-suicide is being remembered.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Watertown Police Chief Justin Hanrahan announced last week that the deaths of three people at a Boyd Street residence are being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide.
The preliminary investigation suggests that Nadia Abrahamian, 80, and Karine Asatryan, 35, were shot and killed by David Minasvand, 31 inside their home. After shooting the two women, David Minasvand died by an apparently self-inflicted gunshot. The three victims were the only ones present in the unit, where they all lived, at the time of the shooting.
An obituary states that Abrahamian lost her husband just a few weeks ago on August 4th.
According to CBS Boston, the older couple took in the younger couple who had a baby.
The obituary also stated that Asatryan and Minasvand helped care for the Abrahamians and that the 5 were like a family.
According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, Karine Asatryan “was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her. Her warmth, kindness, and boundless compassion left a lasting impact, and her absence is deeply felt by all who loved her. Karine had recently welcomed her beautiful baby girl, Madeline, into the world. Becoming a mother filled her with immense joy and purpose. She embraced motherhood with her whole heart, pouring all her love and hopes into her daughter’s future. Tragically, Madeline has now lost both of her parents. She will be lovingly raised by her aunt, Meline, who is stepping into this role with courage, tenderness, and unwavering devotion.”
The fundraiser has been created to honor Karine’s memory and to support baby Madeline as she begins life without her parents.
The investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Watertown Police is ongoing.
