Family looking for public’s help as Fall River woman in ICU, on ventilator, after highway collision

A Fall River woman is in the ICU and on a ventilator after being hit by a car on the highway on Tuesday.
According to Trooper James DeAngelis, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Troopers from the Dartmouth Barracks responded to Route 195 Eastbound in the area of Exit 13 in Fall River for reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries.
According to family members, Sharon Gagliardi was found on the side of the median in the high-speed lane. Debris from the vehicle that hit her was found in the center lane.
Family members believe that she was not a pedestrian until somehow, she was thrown or had to jump from a vehicle as her car was not at the scene. Cameras did not show anyone walking above or below the bridge.
Gagliardi hasn’t woken up leaving questions unanswered. Her birthday is Friday and family are hoping for a miracle.
A request for information to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office has not yet been answered.
Troopers assigned to Crash Reconstruction, Crime Scene Services, and Detectives with the Bristol DA’s Office responded to the scene in addition to Dartmouth Massachusetts State Police and Fall River personnel.
The incident is under investigation and family members are hoping that witnesses will come forward.
