Family and friends mourn the loss of 22-year-old Rhode Island man killed in motorcycle crash
Police have identified a man who was killed in a motorcycle crash on Thursday in Rhode Island.
On Thursday morning, dispatch received a call for a motor vehicle versus motorcycle crash in the area of West Shore Road and Winifred Avenue in Warwick.
22-year-old Tyler Burrows, of Warwick, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown backwards, landing on Winifred Avenue when he collided with a Ford F-250 pick-up truck.
Burrows was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the pick-up truck was uninjured.
Friends and family are understandably devastated at Burrows’s sudden passing but had solace in knowing that he can now be with his mother.
Tyler’s mother, Shaylyn Schoonmaker, who worked for Warwick Public Schools and was well known in the community, died in February of 2021 in a house fire when she went back in the home to save the family’s dog.
Burrow was a friend to many and was described as someone who was there for those close to him and will never be forgotten.
No charges are expected in the crash.
