Family and friends dealing with tragic and sudden loss after fatal crash
Family and friends are coping with the tragic loss of a local man after a fatal crash.
According to Tiverton Officer Michael Miguel, a preliminary investigation revealed that 63-year-old Michael J. Guidry of Acushnet was traveling north on Crandall Road when it left the lane of travel, striking a telephone pole on the east side of the roadway. The vehicle then returned to the roadway, traveled northbound for approximately 400 feet, and again left the lane of travel. The vehicle entered the lawn of 798 Crandall Road where it struck a stone wall and a tree before coming to rest.
Guidry lived in the New Bedford and Acushnet area for most of his life. Michael was a sports enthusiast and a diehard Green Bay Packer’s football fan, according to his family. Michael coached his children in both softball and baseball and loved all-things Corvette. He also enjoyed collecting and trading sports cards with his family who love and already miss him.
