Family and friends cheering on Fall River native currently competing on Love Island USA

A former local man is making waves on the small screen.

According to family members, 27-year-old Fall River native Chaten “Chay” Nehra is currently a contestant on Season 8 of Love Island USA.

Chaten is a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, where he played both football and basketball. He later attended San Diego State University and Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Chaten is the son of Dr. Rajiv Nehra of Fall River Disc and Spine and comes from a family with strong ties to the Fall River community.

With Chaten now appearing on a nationally televised show, many friends, former classmates, and local residents have been following his journey and cheering him on.

Fall River Reporter asked one of Chaten’s family members about his experience on the show.

“He is currently filming and has limited communication, but I know he is incredibly excited about the opportunity. Being selected for Love Island USA has been a unique experience, and he’s proud to represent Fall River on a national stage. Our family has been overwhelmed by the support from friends, former classmates, and the local community.”

New Love Island USA episodes are currently dropping every day except Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET on Peacock.
