Fall River’s Saint Anne’s Hospital receives 26th straight “A” from The Leapfrog Group, see how other area hospitals ranked

Providence, RI – 5 hospitals within the Brown University Health system received an “A” or “B” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard of patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The hospitals gaining this distinction in patient safety are The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI, Newport Hospital in Newport, RI, Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, MA and Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA. In addition, Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI, earned a “B” for Fall 2024. Charlton Memorial Hospital from Southcoast Health also received a “B” grade. Sturdy Hospital from Sturdy Health in Attleboro received an “A” grade.

This national distinction celebrates achievements in prioritizing patient safety by protecting patients from preventable harm and errors.

Saint Anne’s Hospital has earned an “A” safety grade 26 consecutive times since the inception of the grading system in 2012. Making it one of only 12 hospitals in the country to hold this honor.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
