Fall River’s Sadie lost the only owner she has known, her remaining time shouldn’t be in a shelter

Meet Fall River Forever Paws Pet of the Week Sadie!

Sweet girl Sadie is looking for a place to live out her golden years or whatever time that she has left.

This gentle soul came to Forever Paws when her owner passed away so you can imagine how confusing and scary this all is for Sadie. The world can be a tough place for a senior dog as it is, never mind a senior dog that lost the only owner she’s known all her life.

Sadie is a German Shorthaired Pointer and is estimated to be between 10-13 years old. She weighs 42lbs. She’s already spayed and she’s up to date on her vaccines. She’s negative for heartworm/lyme/anaplasmosis/ehrlichia. She seems to be a little bit blind and a lot deaf. She does enjoy her lazy strolls in the sunshine but for the most part, she just wants a safe place to snuggle and snooze.

FP doesn’t know how much time Sadie has left. It could be years. It could be months. What we do know is that we don’t want her spending it in a shelter. It should be spent curled up in bed with her people, taking easy walks through the soft grass, having her favorite snacks, and watching the world go by.

She would most likely be just fine with other senior dogs. Forever Paws can cat test her upon request, but they honestly don’t think she would have an issue. They would prefer kids 8+ to keep her environment as low stress and low noise as possible for her.
