Fall River’s Puddles has had a rough start and deserves a loving forever home

Meet Fall River Forever Paws Pet of the Week Puddles!
The Animal Shelter states that Puddles is going to need a very specific sort of person. Someone patient, someone experienced, someone with time to invest in a dog that’s had a rough start. Someone willing to seek training from a professional to keep Puddles on the right path.
He’s only about a year old, so he’s still very young. He allegedly spent most of his life in a crate, but Forever Paws can’t verify that or know that for sure. They just know that he came to them petrified of the world, which is understandable. The world is a big place and if you haven’t seen most of it, it can be overwhelming. He whines a lot when in an enclosed space and has a lot of anxiety. Physical exercise seems to temporarily help, and he loves to zoom around and chase after balls. He’s uncertain about other dogs but definitely interested in them and he’s absolutely terrified of cats.
Puddles may nip if he’s cornered. He is absolutely terrified of being cornered. He hasn’t nipped anyone so far but it’s important that you’re able to read his body language and know when he’s being pushed too far and getting overwhelmed or when he’s afraid.
The best thing about Puddles?
He warms up quick and then will be a clingy little Velcro dog. He will climb into your lap and jump on your legs and whine for attention. He loves his walks and actually walks pretty well on a leash. He’s a good medium sized dog at about 32 lbs. and he is a hound mix…though he acts A LOT like an Australian Shepherd.
