A Fall River pro boxer will be looking to keep his loss column at zero as he fights for his first title this week.

32-year-old Kris Jacobs (2-0-1) of Fall River will be facing 26-year-old Ryan Dibartolomeo (2-0-1) out of Leominster for the vacant USA New Hampshire State Welterweight Title at New England Sports Center in Derry, New Hampshire.

Jacobs last beat Chelmsford’s previously undefeated Brandon Higgins (3-1-0) on January 31st at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire.

Born in Brighton, Jacobs credits Craig Adams and Charles “Chick” Rose for helping teach him the skills he has today.

Jacobs, who is also the owner of Stay Ready Boxing & Fitness in Fall River, has also previously beaten Harry Gigliotti by a majority decision in May of 2019.

The card currently has a list of bouts scheduled and spectators are allowed. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at TicketRiver.com. The action starts at 7:00 p.m.

In a city that has turned more to MMA, Jacobs is looking to inspire more participants to the sport. Winning a title Saturday night wouldn’t hurt.
