Fall River’s Joson Sanon explodes for 28 points for Arizona State in road loss to Utah

A basketball star from Fall River may have had his best game of his college career on Saturday.

Arizona State (13-16, 4-14) dropped a high scoring matchup against Utah (16-13, 8-10), 99-73. The Sun Devils were down two starters, guard Adam Miller and forward Jayden Quaintance.

Being shorthanded, Joson Sanon stepped up and had a monster game.

Sanon built on his 18 point, 5 rebound, 4 assist performance in ASU’s last outing against 25th ranked BYU with a 28-point performance. Sanon buried 11 of his 20 shots drilling 4 of 5 from long range.

Sanon suffered a high ankle sprain on New Years Eve and missed 5 of the 8 games that followed. Sanon had struggled with an injury that can be tough to come back from, but his 46 points in 2 games clearly shows he is back on track.

The Sun Devils will play rival Arizona on the road at 11:00 p.m. Est on Tuesday.
