Fall River’s Joson Sanon chooses Rick Pitino’s St. John’s Red Storm, here is what he had to say

A basketball star from Fall River appears to have found a new home.
According to Jeff Borzello of ESPN on Sunday, Joson Sanon planned to enter the transfer portal and leave Arizona State after one season.
ESPN announced on Wednesday that Sanon selected the St. John’s Red Storm coached by the legend Rick Pitino.
“Coach Pitino believes in me and my potential and what he can do for me,” Sanon told ESPN. “He preaches working hard, and I want to show him I’m the hardest working player that’s ever played for him. The way Coach P teaches defense is something I want to invest my time into.”
Prior to ASU’s last game of the season, Sanon scored 81 points in a 4-game stretch and averaged nearly 16 points a game in the first month of the season. In the middle of the season, Sanon was hampered by a high ankle sprain.
The Bobby Hurley coached Sun Devils had a difficult season finishing 13-19 and 4-17 in the Big 12 Conference which includes the end of year tournament.
Sanon’s move to St. John’s in New York will put him in the Big East, closer to home, and easier for Fall Riverites to follow him.
