Fall River’s HealthFirst Family Care Center announces New Chief Executive Officer
Fall River, MA – The Board of Directors and Management of HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. has announced the appointment of Dr. Lisa Jones to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Lisa M. Jones, M.D., M.B.A, is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with over twenty years of experience working in Federally Qualified Community Health Centers. A resident of Somerset, Dr. Jones is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. Jones most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer at Duffy Health Center in Hyannis. She previously served as Chief Quality and Compliance Officer at Greater New Bedford Community Health Center.
Said Dr. Jones, “I am thrilled to join HealthFirst as the new Chief Executive Officer. HealthFirst has a tradition of demonstrating a deep passion for healthcare, and a strong commitment to serving our community. I look forward to continuing this tradition of providing high quality health care and innovating to meet the evolving needs of the greater Fall River community.”
Julie Almond, outgoing Chief Executive Office, added her thoughts to Dr. Jones role at Healthfirst by saying, “After an extensive search, we are truly excited and grateful that Dr. Jones has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Jones is community-minded and engaged, inclusive in her thinking, and her professional history shows her desire to provide quality healthcare to diverse populations. As I leave HealthFirst I wish Dr. Jones and the entire HealthFirst family, continued success as they work to meet the healthcare needs of the community.”
Dr. Jones is replacing Almond, who has been with HealthFirst for 25 years, including 20 as the Chief Executive Officer. Roger A. Cabral, President of the HealthFirst Board of Directors and a Board member since 2015 said “While before my time on the Board, I’ve always appreciated the effort and energy that it must have taken to transform the current location of HealthFirst into the beautiful health center it is now. Julie led the organization through that intensive and time-consuming process. On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, and patients of HealthFirst, I’d like to thank Julie for her many years of dedication and leadership. I believe Dr. Jones will continue to build upon the foundation Julie helped shape and I look forward to working with Dr. Jones to expand HealthFirst’s service offerings in the Fall River Community.”
Dr. Jones will assume her new position on November 18, 2024.
