Fall River’s Cherry & Webb Building has officially been sold; here are the plans for the iconic structure
A well-known building in Fall River’s downtown is officially off the market.
According to Fall River Registry of Deeds records, the Cherry & Webb Building at 139 South Main Street was officially sold on Wednesday.
Jobs for Fall River, Inc. and Greater Fall River Development Corporation sold the property for $1,100,000 to Little Tiger Capital LLC whose sole principal of record is Carolyn Elaine Huerth of Boston.
In June, Little Tiger Capital LLC c/o Atty. Peter Saulino went in front of the Fall River Licensing Board and was granted a Variance to convert the existing structure into a mixed-use building containing 68-70 residential apartments (26 studios, 27 one bedrooms, 7 one bedrooms with dens, 8 two bedrooms) and 7 commercial or professional office spaces pursuant to Section 86-376(B) to allow residential use on the first floor.
The applicant was also granted a Special Permit to continue to utilize the existing non-conforming structure and to waive parking requirements.
The petitioner and partners have extensive experience in transforming properties. Among the amenities for the luxury/market rate development will be a furnished roof deck overlooking the water, a spa, a sauna, pet washing stations, media labs, and a movie theater.
Parking would be utilized at the Pearl Street parking garage. It was also noted at the meeting that the City of Fall River is committed to repairing parking garages to regain parking spaces.
Among the stipulations agreed upon were that no residential units will face South Main Street, and 70 parking spaces are committed within a 2,000-foot radius.
The property is expected to be available for renters in 2 years.
